Privacy Notice

This Notice explains what information the Eldwick Swim Results website displays or processes, where that information comes from, and the choices available to athletes, parents, guardians, and visitors.

Effective dateAugust 18, 2026

1. Scope and operator

This Privacy Notice applies to the Eldwick Swim Results website (the “Site”), an independent informational project operated by the Site Operator. It does not apply to MCSL, participating teams, linked websites, or other third parties. The Site is not an official MCSL or Eldwick publication.

2. Information displayed from public result sources

The Site displays and reorganizes information obtained from publicly accessible swimming-result sources. Depending on the event, displayed fields may include an athlete’s name, year, age group, gender category, team or relay membership, event, seed and final times, placement or status, points, meet details, and a link or reference to the source. The Site does not display an athlete’s specific age.

This competition information is obtained from published result sources rather than collected directly from athletes through the Site. The Site may calculate summaries, comparisons, totals, and charts from those records. Those calculations are informational and may differ from an official source because of later corrections, scoring rules, or data-processing limitations.

3. Information provided when using the Site

The Site does not currently provide user accounts, public profiles, payment functions, uploads, comments, or contact forms. Search terms, selected filters, sorting choices, and chart settings are processed in your browser to display matching results and are not intentionally saved by the Site Operator as user profiles.

If you contact the Site Operator outside the Site, the operator may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, relationship to an athlete, the record at issue, and supporting material. Do not send sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for the request.

4. Technical information and hosting

Like most websites, the Site’s hosting and security infrastructure may automatically process basic technical information needed to deliver and protect the Site. This may include an IP address, browser and device type, operating system, requested page, referring page, date and time, approximate region derived from an IP address, and security or diagnostic events. The Site Operator may not receive or control every item processed by the hosting provider.

5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

The Site uses a first-party, privacy-minimizing page-view counter to understand overall use and maintain reliable service. It stores only hourly and daily aggregate counts associated with the requested Site page. The Site Operator does not store IP addresses, user-agent strings, cookies, persistent visitor identifiers, or individual browsing histories for this analytics feature. Aggregate totals are visible only through a creator-authorized administrative view.

The Site Operator has not added advertising cookies, cross-site behavioral tracking, or third-party audience analytics to the Site. The Site does not sell personal data or use displayed athlete information for targeted advertising. Hosting providers may use essential cookies or similar technology for security, routing, abuse prevention, authentication of administrative access, or reliable delivery. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy notices.

6. How information is used

Information is processed only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide searchable historical meet results, summaries, and charts;
  • verify, update, correct, attribute, or remove records;
  • maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site;
  • detect abuse, protect athletes and users, and enforce the Terms of Use; and
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

7. Disclosure of information

Published result data is visible to Site visitors. The Site Operator does not sell or rent personal data. Information may be disclosed to service providers that host, secure, or maintain the Site; to an affected team, meet administrator, source publisher, athlete, parent, or guardian when needed to evaluate a correction or safety request; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, prevent harm, investigate abuse, or protect rights and security.

8. Children and athlete information

The Site is a general-audience informational resource and is not designed to solicit personal information directly from children under 13. Published competition records may concern minors. The Site minimizes displayed fields to information relevant to meet results and does not intentionally publish home addresses, personal telephone numbers, personal email addresses, account credentials, precise real-time locations, or medical records.

A parent or legal guardian who believes a child has directly submitted personal information through the Site, or who has a good-faith correction, removal, or safety concern about a displayed record, may request review using the process below. Misuse of athlete information is prohibited by the Terms of Use.

9. Correction, access, deletion, and other requests

Depending on applicable law and the nature of the information, you may request information about processing, correction of inaccurate data, deletion or limitation of certain information, or review of a privacy concern. Requests concerning a minor should come from the athlete’s parent or legal guardian, or another person authorized to act for the athlete.

A request should identify the relevant record and meet, explain the requested action, and provide enough information to verify the requester’s identity and authority. The Site Operator will use verification information only to evaluate and document the request. Requests may be denied or limited when they cannot be verified, conflict with law, implicate another person’s rights, are fraudulent or abusive, or concern records the Site Operator does not control. Official-record corrections must also be directed to MCSL or the relevant team or meet administrator.

10. Retention

Published meet-result information may be retained as a historical season record until it is updated, corrected, removed, or no longer needed for the Site’s purpose. Anonymous aggregate page-view counts may be retained to compare usage trends over time. Correction and legal correspondence may be retained as reasonably necessary to complete the request, document the decision, protect safety and legal rights, and comply with law. Technical logs are retained according to the hosting and security providers’ settings and policies.

11. Security

The Site Operator uses reasonable measures appropriate to this informational Site and relies on the hosting provider’s delivery and security controls. No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information and should notify the Site Operator if you believe the Site or displayed information presents a security risk.

12. Maryland and other privacy rights

Maryland residents and visitors from other jurisdictions may have privacy rights under laws that apply to the relevant processing. These rights can vary and may not apply to public information, small or noncommercial operators, or particular records. The Site Operator will evaluate properly submitted requests in good faith and in accordance with applicable law. The Site does not discriminate against a person for making a lawful privacy request.

13. Third-party websites

The Site links to original result sources and other third-party websites. Those sites may collect information under their own privacy practices. The Site Operator does not control and is not responsible for those practices. Review the privacy notice of any third-party site you visit.

14. Changes to this Notice

This Notice may be updated when the Site’s data, features, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised Notice will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes to collection or use practices should be reviewed before the affected feature is introduced.

15. Contact and requests

Privacy, correction, removal, and safety requests should be sent through the communication channel by which the Site was provided to you. If no direct channel is available, contact the relevant Eldwick team administrator and ask that the request be forwarded to the Site Operator. Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information. Questions about the accuracy of an official source record should also be directed to the original results publisher.
